The Big Ugly is about an English crime enforcer looking for vengeance after the love of his life is killed in West Virginia. The fact that she was drugged and killed by the son of an oil man who happens to be best friend with the enforcers English boss complicates matters as do the 25 million pounds which one has given as a loan to the other.
This movie is not as bad as one could expect and the actors including Ron Pearlman as the Oil Man and Malcom McDowell as the British Crime Boss are decent in their supporting roles. Vinnie Jones as the aggrieved enforcer is not bad either. The fact that all three had a hand in producing the film probably had them act as well as they could. The actors in the smaller roles are all ok as well. The biggest problem here is the bad story which feels like it is dragging way too much and gets too slow and at times repetitive. Most of the characters also feel either like too much of a cliche or do very dumb things to advance the plot. Overall, this was not very exciting or engaging although everyone tries their best to produce a decent film. It could have been much better had the story been better written.

The main character girl was so damn stiff lol I just wanted to see her butt but the camera man barely wanted to show and the asian girl had more personality than her but the movie was ok.

Vinnie Jones can be A very good actor if he was in the right film type. He needs to be more like a Jason Statham style action films hes got the look to play a bad ass villain but that's what he plays all the time but in low budget film's and very rarely any good. I liked him in mean machine and its a good uk made film. He needs to team up with Statham again for an action feast two British actors in a bigger budget film and with a lot of humor i think it would do well a bit like the two good guys coming together without the i hate you attitude getting along doing what they know best. I know its all been done before and with other Statham films but all action films are based on this same type of ideas make the film like a john wick style action. Give Vinnie a big budget film for once and give him a chance to shine for a change and see if his career can go that bit better for him sometimes it only takes one film do to well and get a sequel.

These should be REMAKES than SEQUELS.
